In the world of gaming, few titles generate as much buzz as the Grand Theft Auto series, and the upcoming release of GTA 6 is no exception. While Rockstar Games has been notoriously secretive about the details surrounding this highly anticipated game, recent unofficial leaks have emerged online, painting a vivid picture of what players can expect. These leaks provide intriguing insights into the game’s gameplay mechanics, expansive map, and a variety of new content elements that seem set to elevate the franchise.
According to these reports, GTA 6 will boast an impressive array of features including more than 700 enterable stores, fully operational malls, and a significantly upgraded character-switching system. As confirmed by Rockstar, the game is scheduled to launch on May 26, 2026, for both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, although fans on PC will have to wait for an announced release date yet to be revealed.
Various gaming news outlets and active social media conversations have highlighted several captivating additions that may be included in the upcoming title. One of the most exciting revelations is the potential return of the 6-star wanted level, a beloved feature from earlier GTA games that fans have been yearning for. Additionally, the presence of a relationship bar, which was initially hinted at in leaked clips from 2022, seems to be making a comeback. This system is reported to operate similarly to the “honour” mechanic found in Red Dead Redemption 2, adding a new layer of depth to player interactions.
In addition to these mechanics, the leaks suggest the introduction of weight mechanics, allowing for more tactile gameplay, and the exploration of underwater areas filled with treasures and hidden secrets. Players can look forward to a more immersive experience as the game enhances environmental interactions—evidenced by a scene from Trailer 2 where a character, Jason, buys beer, which is reportedly actual gameplay footage.
Furthermore, a “greet and antagonise” system reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption 2 is rumored to be integrated into GTA 6, allowing players to engage with NPCs in a more dynamic way. A particularly noteworthy update involves the character wheel, which is expected to feature three distinct options: players can choose to play as either Solo Jason or Solo Lucia, or opt for a Dual protagonist control mode that enables simultaneous control of both characters during open-world robberies and specific missions.
Despite earlier speculation, leaks indicate that GTA 6’s map will not include a Panhandle region. However, fans can still look forward to a vast open world with Vice City at its heart, complemented by additional locations inspired by the diverse landscapes of Florida. While there are rumors regarding a Disney World parody, this feature will not be included, but the fan community is eagerly analyzing every pixel of the existing trailers and unconfirmed data to uncover the full extent of Vice City and its surrounding areas, including locations such as Ambrosia and Port Gellhorn.
Other rumored content details include the presence of male strippers, improvements to driving mechanics that are described as the best the series has ever seen, and a gore/dismemberment system built upon the foundation established by Red Dead Redemption 2. However, some features mentioned in earlier leaks, such as fully nude sex scenes, the ability to listen to music outside of vehicles, prone movement, and dual-wielding weapons, are now said to have been cut from the final game. The narrative structure of the game is reportedly divided into five chapters, echoing the successful format used in Red Dead Redemption 2.
