Social Media User Claims 14 Interview Rounds for Wipro Job, Sparks Debate

A social media user, Antara Mandal, has recently ignited a vibrant discussion online after sharing her claim of being selected for the position of 'developer' at the well-known IT company Wipro in Bengaluru. Her announcement came after what she described as an arduous journey through '14 rounds of interviews.' Mandal took to Instagram to celebrate her achievement, posting a picture of her office identity card and a cheerful message that has since caught the attention of many social media users, leading to a wave of both support and skepticism.
In her post on Instagram Threads, Mandal stated, “After clearing 14 rounds of an interview, I have finally been selected for the 'DEVELOPER' role in ‘Wipro.’ I create my own sunshine. Dreams are not what you see in your sleep, dreams are those that don't let you sleep.” This motivational message accompanied her announcement, seemingly intended to inspire others who might be on similar journeys in their careers.
Mandal, who identifies herself as a former employee of Bajaj Housing Finance Limited on her Instagram profile, showcased a series of photos that depict her in what appears to be the Wipro office environment. One photo shows her standing joyfully in front of a large Wipro logo, pointing at it with enthusiasm. She is dressed in a light yellow top paired with blue jeans and proudly wears a Wipro employee ID badge attached to a blue lanyard, suggesting her integration into the Wipro community.
In another image, she features her ID badge resting on a patterned fabric, with the Wipro logo prominently displayed alongside her name in bold white text over a dark blue circular background. These visuals seemed to solidify her claims, yet they did not go unnoticed by the critical eye of the online community.
Despite Mandal's celebratory tone, her revelation was met with skepticism from various social media users. Many expressed disbelief regarding her claim of undergoing 14 interview rounds, with some suggesting that it was likely an exaggeration. One commenter, identifying as a former Wipro employee, shared their experience by asserting that typically, there are only about "4–5 rounds" of interviews conducted by the company.
Other users chimed in with similar sentiments. A self-identified HR professional who claimed to have worked at Wipro for three years remarked, “Wipro me 14 rounds? Max 4 rounds hota hai including HR discussion round.” Another user humorously speculated, “Maybe she was trying to say 14 interviews at different companies and finally got selected at Wipro.”
The commentary continued with many users agreeing that the usual interview process at Wipro does not extend beyond two or three rounds. As the debate unfolded, it highlighted the varying perceptions of job application processes in large organizations like Wipro, and how social media can serve as a platform for both celebration and critique.
