Brian Johnson, widely recognized by his online persona as “The Liver King,” has been arrested by the Austin Police Department and is facing serious legal consequences for allegedly making terroristic threats against well-known UFC commentator and podcast host, Joe Rogan. The incident unfolded dramatically as police confirmed Johnson’s arrest on June 24, 2025, following a series of peculiar and disturbing videos he posted on social media, in which he challenged Rogan to a fight.

According to a statement released by the Austin Police Department, detectives were alerted to Johnson’s alarming Instagram posts at approximately 9:30 a.m. on the day of his arrest. In these videos, Johnson expressed an intent to confront Rogan in person, even going so far as to travel to Austin, Texas, where Rogan resides. Detectives reviewed the threatening posts and contacted Rogan, who claimed he had never interacted with Johnson and viewed the messages as a significant threat. This prompted the police to secure an arrest warrant against Johnson, citing the charge of Terroristic Threat.

Later that day, around 5:59 p.m., officers located Johnson at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel on San Jacinto Boulevard and took him into custody without incident. He was subsequently transported to the Travis County Jail, where he was charged with a Class B misdemeanor for making a terroristic threat. The police have stated that the investigation remains ongoing, and they currently have no additional information to provide regarding the case.

Interestingly, even after his arrest, Johnson posted videos on his Instagram account, seemingly unfazed by his legal troubles. In these posts, he continued to challenge Rogan to a fight, instructing his social media team to document every moment of his bizarre rants. “Joe Rogan, we don’t have to make videos to pretend anymore,” Johnson declared in one of the videos. “All of this is happening; we’re coming to you. I’ve challenged you, man-to-man, to a fight. Honorable. We don’t have to pretend or make any videos. The world is watching; they’ll make the videos for us.”

Brian Johnson initially gained fame as an online influencer preaching what he describes as “nine ancestral tenets” regarding his lifestyle, which includes a controversial diet predominantly consisting of raw meats. His rise to fame has not been without controversy; after spending years denying the use of performance-enhancing drugs to maintain his impressive physique, Johnson finally admitted in 2022 to using steroids. This admission followed the leak of emails revealing he was spending upwards of $11,000 a month on anabolic steroids and other substances. If convicted of the charges against him, Johnson could face up to 180 days in jail along with a potential fine of up to $2,000.
