ABC News to Air Exclusive Interview with President Trump on His 100th Day in Office

ABC News announced today that it will present an exclusive primetime interview with President Donald Trump, timed to coincide with the significant milestone of his 100th day in office during his second term. This special interview will take place in the iconic Oval Office, a setting synonymous with presidential history and decision-making.
Conducted by ABC News Senior National Correspondent Terry Moran, the interview will be titled President Trump: The First 100 Days - The Interview in the Oval Office. It is set to air at 8 p.m. ET/PT and 7 p.m. CT on ABC. Following the primetime broadcast, viewers will also have the opportunity to stream the interview on ABC News Live, as well as platforms such as Hulu and Disney+, later in the evening.
In order to make room for this special programming, ABCs popular political drama Will Trent, which usually airs at 8 p.m., will be rescheduled to a later timeslot from 9 to 10 p.m.. Following that, The Rookie, which typically airs at 9 p.m., will be pushed back to 10 p.m.
As President Trump approaches this notable point in his presidency, he faces a myriad of challenges and controversies. While he has garnered support from his base for his initiatives on immigration and tariffs aimed at revitalizing American manufacturing, and for his efforts toward negotiating peace in the ongoing three-year conflict between Russia and Ukraine, he has also been criticized for his economic policies and handling of immigration.
The latest findings from the ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll reveal that only 39% of respondents approve of Trump's performance as president, while a significant 55% express disapproval. In a CNN poll conducted by SSRS and released recently, Trump's approval rating is slightly higher at 41%. Notably, the lowest approval rating for a president at or near their 100-day mark, based on polls dating back to 1945, was Trumps own 42% in 2017.
In addition to ABCs interview, NewsNation will be organizing a town hall with Trump on Wednesday, April 30, titled Cuomo Town Hall: The First 100 Days. This event will air at 8 p.m. ET and will be moderated by anchor Chris Cuomo, alongside notable authors and commentators Bill OReilly and Stephen A. Smith. This town hall will feature a live phone interview with the president, allowing for dynamic engagement with the audience. It will be broadcasted live and free on multiple platforms including NewsNation's website, its app, and YouTube channel.
Moreover, the event will be simulcast on The CW and will also have a live audio broadcast available on SiriusXMs POTUS Channel, providing a diverse range of viewing and listening options for the public.
