US President Donald Trump marked 100 days in office on Tuesday and held a rally in Michigan to celebrate what he touted as a series of major economic victories and attacked Democrats, including former President Joe Biden over record on immigration. Holding a rally on Tuesday night in Warren, Michigan, Trump said “I miss the campaign” to a cheerful crowd, implying that he no longer gets to hold campaign style public rallies as the rally in Michigan, the hub of the US auto industry, is the first large event hosted by the Republican after assuming office on January 20. In his usual rhetoric, President Trump in the Michigan rally targeted his predecessor Joe Biden’s mental acuity and how he appears in a bathing suit, repeated his baseless claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him and cornered the polling and news coverage which wasn’t favourable to him. You haven’t even seen anything yet.” The president boasted of deploying military forces at the US borders immediately after taking office in January in order to block “the invasion of our border”. Taking potshots at the judiciary, Trump during the rally in Michigan said that courts are giving his administration a “tough time” and alleged that judges are trying to prevent “unbelievably bad” people from being deported. “The worst of the worst are being sent to a no-nonsense prison in El Salvador,” the president said, while referencing an infamous jail in El Salvador where authorities are accused of committing human rights violations. Reiterating about his tariff war, Trump said that imposition of reciprocal tariffs would lead America to a strong economy and claimed that his administration is going to make a deal with China. “We get along with China. I think it’s gonna work out. They want to make a deal. We’re going to make a deal. It’s going to be a fair deal,” Trump said, reported BBC.
