The first live show of the series kicked off on Saturday (April 26) with a performance from dinosaur rockers Heavysaurus. Teddy Magic was then set to be the second act to perform. ‌ But after his introduction, Ant and Dec revealed that the eight-year-old magician 'wasn't ready' to come on stage. Instead, they improvised and spoke to the judges about the previous act to kill time, but even Simon Cowell was confused. ‌ Ant explained: "Now Teddy isn't quite ready backstage yet, so we'll chat to you judges," as Dec explained they were going to have a "little change of plan". Simon then responded sternly, "Wait, so the act's not ready?," with Ant saying: "He's only eight years old, so back off!". After having a chat with the judges, the hosts then explained that they would be moving onto the third act, Vinnie McKee, as Dec added: "We're going to go to something else and come back to Teddy later on." It's now been revealed that Teddy Magic will not perform this weekend. The ITV show is back for another live semi-final this Saturday (May 3) but Teddy will not be performing this week once again. Article continues below Half an hour before the end of the last episode, it was announced by Dec that Teddy would be performing again later in the series. "[Teddy] wont be performing tonight but we hope to see him later on in the series," Dec had said. It was expected he might perform in another semi-final but it won't be this one as the line-up has been revealed, the Mirror reports. After his absence from the show, fans rushed to social media to send their well wishes to young Teddy. One wrote: "I hope little Teddy was ok. I think children should only be able to apply age 11+. An adult performer would be nervous and overwhelmed in a live show never mind an 8 yr old child. #BGT," as a second added: "I feel so sorry for Teddy magic I wish he performed." "@antanddec @BGT is Teddy magic ok? Hope he's doing ok as it's a huge night for a little lad and hope to see him in the live shows soon #BGT," a third wrote, with a fourth adding: "#bgt @BGT what happened to Teddy Magic? He is okay?!! Bit awful of @bgt not to provide any news or reassurance." A fifth penned: "I'm gutted about #Teddy not performing tonight in @BGT. I really hope he's okay!"
