Police hunt knifeman after 'frightening' store robbery Detectives have launched a CCTV appeal Police want to speak to this man as part of their investigation (Image: GMP ) Detectives investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store have launched a CCTV appeal. It comes after the shop on Rochdale Road in Middleton was robbed by a man wielding a knife who demanded staff open the till. After the alarm was sounded he ran off along Hollin Lane. The robbery took place around 9.15am on April 12. No arrests have been made. Police have now released a CCTV still of a man they want to speak as part of their investigation. Officers say 'it's believed he could have relevant information that will assist with enquires'. Det Con Alexandra Fitzpatrick said: "This must have been a frightening experience for staff and members of the public who were in the store at the time, and whilst I am relieved no one was injured, I understand the concern incidents of this nature will cause. "We are following up a number of lines of inquiry and are keen to speak to anyone with information that will assist us."
