More info Manchester United will be hoping to take a giant stride towards the Europa League final when they face Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium in the first leg of their semi-final showdown on Thursday night. United, who last faced Bilbao in a competitive fixture in 2012, progressed to the semi-finals of the competition with a dramatic quarter-final triumph over Lyon at Old Trafford a fortnight ago. United fought back from 4-2 down in extra-time to win 5-4 and progress with a 7-6 aggregate victory, keeping their hopes of a trophy and Champions League qualification for next season alive. United will head into the contest against the Spanish outfit on the back of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth in the Premier League, for which head coach Ruben Amorim named a strong team, meaning changes to the starting XI could be minimal in the Basque Country. Having played every minute of United's Europa League knockout campaign thus far, Andre Onana is guaranteed to continue in goal. He will be targeting just his second clean sheet in the competition this season. Diogo Dalot's continued absence due to a calf injury means Noussair Mazraoui could start at right wing-back once again, with Patrick Dorgu operating on the opposite flank. The latter's pace could be key to assisting United's efforts on the break against a team that likes to dominate the ball. Despite being included in the 26-man travelling squad, Matthijs de Ligt is unlikely to be thrown straight back into the starting XI after missing the last six games, meaning Harry Maguire could once again be flanked by Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw in the back-three. Shaw completed the full 90 minutes against Bournemouth and grew into the game, particularly in the second half, meaning he will want to keep his place. With Mazraoui and Dorgu manning the wings, Manuel Ugarte could return to the team at Kobbie Mainoo's expense and start alongside Casemiro in the centre of midfield. The duo started both legs of the quarter-final triumph over Lyon and have developed a solid rapport in recent weeks. As far as the attack is concerned, United could be unchanged in that particular department, with Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes likely to support Rasmus Hojlund. However, in the event of Ugarte being recalled, Mainoo could rival Garnacho for one of the two No.10 spots. Hojlund, after scoring at the weekend, will be out to end his six-game run without a goal in the Europa League. United predicted line-up vs Athletic Bilbao: Onana; Yoro, Maguire, Shaw; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu; Garnacho, Fernandes; Hojlund.
