West Midlands Police said a short time later, a man in his 20s arrived at hospital with a gunshot wound and he remains in serious condition this evening. The force told us tonight, just after 5:30pm, that no arrests have been made yet in connection with the incident, which unfolded in broad daylight. "It’s believed a vehicle was shot at, near the junction with Trinity Way, at around 11.35am. "A short time later, a man in his 20s arrived at hospital with a gunshot wound. He remains in a serious condition this afternoon. "Officers remain at the scene this afternoon carrying out enquiries, and patrols are being stepped up to offer reassurance. "Motorists are being urged to avoid the area. We would appeal for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or other footage, or any other information, to get in touch with us via 101 or Live Chat on our website, quoting log 1976." All routes surrounding Trinity Way were blocked, but traffic has since improved and all roads are now open. An alert issued by traffic monitoring service Inrix was updated just before 6pm to say: "Traffic easing, Earlier police incident on A4031 Trinity Way in both directions between A41 The Expressway and A4182 Kelvin Way. Restrictions were lifted prior to 17:05."
