Library program explores mastering aging Another new program offered by the Canyon Hills Library that is specifically designed for older adults starts Friday. The Aging Mastery program will include 10 virtual sessions from 2 to 3:30 p.m., running every two weeks and concluding on Sept. 5. This special program focuses on “aging well” and includes creating your own playbook to help you take the essential steps to strengthen your well-being. Join this fun and exciting program that can help bring stability to one’s life and build strong connections in your community as you’ll meet new friends and have the opportunity to cheer each other at the same time. Celebrated moms with the Women’s Club Members of the Anaheim Hills Women’s Club are extending an invitation to all women in the community to attend a Mother’s Day Garden Party. Shop to help the library The Friends of Canyon Hills Library’s next flash book sale will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 13 and 14 at the library branch. Miracle for Kids gets funding help with mission More than 120 golfers participated in the seventh annual Miracles for Kids Golf Invitational, raising more than $247,000 in support of families with critically-ill children served by the Miracles for Kids organization. This event united golfers, sponsors, donors, vendors and volunteers to aid families facing financial and emotional hardships caring for a critically ill child — some of which include homelessness, hunger and depression. Miracles for Kids, which is based in Orange County, serves families in treatment at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County. The nonprofit Miracles for Kids was launched in 2004, and has helped more than 2,000 families since. The organization’s Miracle Manor provides critical housing options for these families and is conveniently located near the CHOC hospital in Orange. Assistance League has 80th celebration planned The Assistance League of Anaheim’s 85th anniversary celebration on May 18 at the Muzeo Cultural Center promises to be an afternoon full of fun activities. The day will include a musical review with Molly Mahoney from the Chance Theater and unveiling of a new philanthropy program, Making Musical Maestros. This new program will provide private music lessons for select kids within the Anaheim Elementary School District. Cost to attend is $85 per person and the reservation deadline is May 3.
