Birmingham City are keen on re-signing striker Che Adams, talkSPORT understands. Adams signed for Serie A side Torino last summer following a five-year stay with Southampton and has scored ten goals so far in Italy in all competitions. 3 Adams could return to England after one season in Italy Credit: Getty It is understood that the 28-year-old is keen on making a return to English football. However, there is doubt as to whether or not the Scotland international would drop into the Championship and he would need persuading. Adams previously played for Birmingham after completing a move from Sheffield United in the summer of 2016. He made 123 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals and assisting 13 other across three seasons at St Andrew's. The striker then signed for Southampton for a reported £15million in 2019 and featured 124 times in the Premier League. A surprise move to Torino followed last July, with regular appearances also coming his way at the Italian club. Should Adams return to Birmingham, he will join a side who have made English Football League history with their League One title win. The Blues beat Blackpool 2-0 on Wednesday night to reach 108 points, which is a record tally in the EFL. "Think how many football teams there have been, how many seasons there have been," manager Chris Davies said of the achievement. "And we are the team to have got the most points in the history of English football. 3 Adams previously spent three years at Birmingham Credit: Getty 3 He could be on his way back to St Andrew's this summer Credit: Getty "To achieve 108 points is truly special and a remarkable achievement. "I had spoken to the players about the legacy we could leave this season and the mark we could make in the footballing world. "I have been drumming it into them - to chase a record like this isn't a club record, not something that people will brush over. Everyone will know what we have done." Victory against Cambridge United on Saturday would therefore take them to an incredible 111 points from a possible 138. Birmingham were relegated from the Championship in the 2023/24 season, but their exile has lasted just a year. They will be joined in the second tier by Wrexham, whose automatic promotion is confirmed despite being 19 points behind.
