Amazon Australia is set to employ hundreds of workers in a hiring blitz, and no experience is needed for the positions. The online retail giant is looking to fill 600 seasonal roles across its fulfilment centres and logistic sites ahead of the mid-year sales. The casual roles — which are available in Perth, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland — have a starting rate of $31.60 but penalties are paid to those who work nights, early mornings or weekend shifts. Successful applicants will be required to work four days a week, including one weekend day, and each shift is 10 hours. The job includes picking and packing boxes, stowing received items and organising and distributing boxes that will be sent to the customer. Workers will also be required to stand and walk for long periods of time and lift products up to 23kg. Amazon Australia HR direction Jacqui Marker said the employees would help ensure fast delivery during Prime Day — Amazon’s highly-anticipated sale offered exclusively to members. “As we prepare for one of our biggest shopping events of the year, we’re excited to welcome hundreds of seasonal workers to our sites across our Australian operations network,” she said. “These roles offer competitive pay, a safe and inclusive work environment, and the opportunity to build valuable skills in a fast-paced, technology-driven workplace.” SEE THE JOBS ON OFFER
