Coronation Street favourite leaves the cobbles with wake of devastation in early ITVX release A fan favourite decided to leave Weatherfield, leaving devastation in their wake Another Coronation Street resident has left Weatherfield behind (Image: PA ) There are spoilers ahead as Coronation Street has found itself short of another resident after a fan favourite decided to leave Weatherfield, leaving devastation in their wake. Daisy Midgeley finally said goodbye to the cobbles during Friday's (May 2) episode of the ITV soap, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX. ‌ It was earlier this week that the Rovers Return barmaid and co-owner shared her plan to quit the Street after her latest whirlwind of drama - including catfishing, tangled romances and a tragic loss after a secret pregnancy. ‌ Earlier this week, Daisy was thinking of herself, after she let her mum take the rap for the catfishing of Jenny Connor, and started to plot her exit. "I've decided it's time I left," Daisy told former step-mother Jenny, who didn't quite get where Daisy wanted to leave. "Weatherfield," she confirmed before Jenny was quick to respond: "Don't let what your mother did push you away." But Daisy insisted: "I'm not." Jenny again reassured: "I don't blame you for a second for what she's been up to." "That's great and I'm sorry for all of that, I am. But it is time that I left the car crash that is my life and I've got to start again somewhere else. So, I'm going to leave tomorrow and I'm going to be gone for good." She went on to have a heart-to-heart with Ryan Connor, in which she apologised 'for everything'. Daisy said her goodbyes (Image: ITV ) Daisy's biggest heartbreak, however, was when she went to say goodbye to Bertie Osbourne, and to clear the air with her angry former fiancé, Daniel Osbourne. Jenny once again tried to change her mind, but Daisy's decision was made. ‌ However, shortly after, the penny dropped for both Jenny and Christina as it became clear Daisy had ran off with the money Jenny thought she was investing in catfisher 'Dom'. But she tried to make amends, leaving letters for a number of people on the Street with money and gifts for each of them, including Kit Green, who she left with a drink on her, and Daniel, who was being sent to Disneyland Paris with Bertie. As she jumped into her taxi, the car started to pull away down the cobbles when Daniel emerged. She stopped and gave him time to talk, but with her mum, Christina Boyd, on her case, she made a hasty exit. And it was Brighton she was heading for, as she was seen checking her flights from Manchester to Bali. Article continues below This marks the end of actress Charlotte's time on the cobbles, after leaving the role earlier this year. It was in January that she announced she would be leaving the long-running show. Former Netflix star Charlotte said in a statement at the time: "My time at Coronation Street is something I'll always cherish. After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it's time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities. It’s been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much."
