On its 'Returns and Refunds' page the supermarket has guidance over what to do when returning an item, with customers warned about its 35 day cut-off period. The firm has recently experienced a bout of issues after a suspected "cyber incident" caused the shop's online operation and in-store contactless payment systems to come to a halt. M&S' returns and refunds advice includes a set of regulations regarding getting your money back. Article continues below The retailer's website states: "Our standard return policy for anything you buy from us is 35 days. This applies to both online and in-store purchases, except in case of sale items. "You have 14 days for sale items bought online, unless otherwise stated; exclusions apply." It added online orders have slightly more leeway for returns. M&S said: "For online orders, the last return date is 35 days from the dispatch date (we appreciate that online orders may arrive a few days after dispatch date, so we allow a few extra days for returns for online orders.) "If you return an item with an expired order summary via post, it will be returned to you." The issue M&S are facing in-stores and online continues, with its chief executive, Stuart Machin, speaking out in a post on social media earlier today (May 2).
