Emergency services were called to Lambourn Drive just before midnight on Thursday, May 1, after a man was found with 'knife wounds'. ‌ The 35-year-old had been seriously injured and was in a critical condition when medics arrived. ‌ Despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene. Article continues below A force spokesperson said: "A man has been arrested following the death of a 35-year-old man in Shrewsbury. "Officers were called to a property on Lambourn Drive at 23.58pm last night (Thursday 1 May). "A man had suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. ‌ "Earlier today, (Friday 2 May) a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody." A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called to reports of a stabbing on Lambourn Drive at 11.47pm. "Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance critical care car attended the scene. "Ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support but sadly, despite their best efforts, it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."
