TikToker Saddy, also known as @saddy542020, aims to guide her audience through the expectations that come with dog ownership. Acknowledging the pluses and minuses associated with various breeds, she believes these top ten dogs stand out due to their exceptional temperaments and the value they could add to an owner's life. She states in her video caption: "We see lots of posts about breeds vet professionals wouldn't own, and while I agree with the majority of them, I feel like it's time to see the opposite of the narrative! All breeds have their unique personalities and health issues, but that shouldn't be the end all, be all. Again, this is personal preference based on personal experience and others don't have to agree." Saddy begins her list with the golden retriever, hailed as the epitome of a best friend for humans. These dogs, she describes, are "extremely versatile, eager to please", not to mention possessing the "best smoosh faces". Another recommendation from her is the pitbull terrier, praised for its combination of strength and softness. According to her, they enjoy "scary dog privilege" and are beloved by vets for their affectionate nature, reports Surrey Live. Saddy highlighted the affectionate nature of greyhounds, describing them as "gentle and sweet natured", and ones who relish lounging on the sofa after a brisk outdoor sprint. Her favoured breeds also include collies and borzois, praised for their winning personalities and striking looks. She lauded boxers as "some of the happiest dogs alive" and gave a nod to Australian shepherd dogs for their "bright and alert" demeanour. Wrapping up her list, she gave special mention to Irish setters, Irish wolfhounds, and Cardigan Welsh corgis, all cherished for their amiable temperaments and cheerful disposition. On her post, responses varied with one user professing: "Labrador Retriever....I'll never own another breed." And another user confessed: "I met an Irish wolfhound once and I cried because he was so glorious." Yet another shared: "I love Irish wolfhounds but I've never even met one." Meanwhile, a different voice added: "No no, I've met far too many aggressive golden's on walks with my dog. Everyone thinks they're such an easy breed but they're quite the opposite, super boisterous - overrated in my personal opinion!". Another chimed in: "My pitbull is my soul dog. Literally would die for him and he would me. Also have a corgi and she is the best girl ever." Concluding the comments, one person expressed gratitude: "My cardigan welsh corgi Cannoli says thank you for the shout out. I was told they are 'corgis with an off switch' and that was spot-on. He's currently passed out on my feet."
