Teenagers arrested after armed fight with 'machetes' outside corner shop Residents reported a group 'fighting with machetes' Police were called to Hazelbottom Road in Crumpsall (Image: Adam Vaughan ) Three teenagers have been arrested after an armed fight with 'machetes' broke out outside a north Manchester corner shop. Police raced to Hazelbottom Road in Crumpsall at around 7:30pm on Thursday (May 1) to reports of an 'armed fight with knives'. The group were reported to be causing 'further disturbances' in the area when police apprehended them. A Section 60 dispersal order was issued 'in order to keep residents safe', according to Greater Manchester Police. This has since been lifted. The three teenagers, who are all male, remain in custody for questioning. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "At around 7:30pm Thursday 1 May, we received reports of an armed fight with knives. Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE Article continues below "Officers made to the location on Hazelbottom Road in Manchester, where further disturbances were in the area. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported. "Three male teenagers were subsequently arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and intentional wounding and remain in custody for questioning at this time. "A Section 60 dispersal order was also issued in response to continue to keep local residents safe. This has since been lifted. "Anyone with additional information, whilst enquiries continue are asked to call 101 quoting incident 3459 of 01/05/2025.
