May the 4th is almost here, and “Star Wars” fans around the globe will be looking for ways to celebrate. While plenty of fans have collected the “Star Wars” movies on DVD and VHS, now anyone can stream the iconic films. If you’re looking to have a movie marathon on May the 4th, look no further than Disney+. The entire “Star Wars” collection is available on the streaming platform. From the OG trilogy (“A New Hope,” “The Empire Strikes Back,” and “Return of the Jedi”), to the prequel trilogy (“The Phantom Menace,” “Attack of the Clones,” and “Revenge of the Sith”), to the sequel trilogy (“The Force Awakens,” “The Last Jedi,” and “The Rise of Skywalker”), Disney+ has it all. You’ll also find all the standalone “Star Wars” films — like the animated “Clone Wars” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” on the streaming platform. And don’t forget — “Star Wars” TV shows like “The Mandalorian,” “Andor,” “Skeleton Crew,” and “Tales of the Empire,” are also available on Disney+. The only “Star Wars” content you won’t find on Disney+ is the infamous “Star Wars Holiday Special,” which aired on CBS in 1978. It was panned by critics, and “Star Wars” creator George Lucas wants you to forget about it. “If I had the time and a sledgehammer, I would track down every bootlegged copy of the program and smash it,” Lucas said of the special at a convention in the early 1980s, per The Hollywood Reporter. The holiday special starred “Star Wars” OGs Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (Han Solo) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), but even they couldn’t save the bizarre broadcast. Club’s Nathan Rabin wrote in a review. “The Star Wars Holiday Special” can’t be part of your Disney+ May the 4th movie marathon, but perhaps that’s for the best.
