The UK has been treated to glorious weather across the last week, with many parts of the country having recorded their hottest temperatures of the year so far. ‌ Article continues below Scotland and Northern Ireland both recorded their highest temperatures on Tuesday (April 8), with Perthshire reaching 20.9C on Tuesday, while temperatures in Castlederg got to 19.4C. This week, Greater Manchester has seen nothing but pure sunshine and clear skies, with highs of 16C each day. Now, the latest forecast from the Met Office shows that temperatures are set to get even hotter. At around 4pm on Friday, temperatures in Manchester will be at their highest at around 20C - which is notably above the April average. Surrounding boroughs such as Rochdale, Bolton and Wigan will see highs of 19C around this time. ‌ Meanwhile, at the same time in Barcelona, Spain, the city will reach highs of 17C. The Met Office forecast for today says: "Another pleasant and dry day after early fog lifts and clears. Plenty of warm sunshine with light winds and temperatures notably above the April average. Maximum temperature 20C." The Met Office says: "A sunny start to the weekend once any fog clears. Becoming cloudier through late morning with sunshine turning increasingly hazy but remaining dry. Still feeling warm. Maximum temperature 19 °C." But the bad news is that after nearly two weeks of clear skies and warm days, conditions are set to change from Sunday (April 13). Although still sunny, temperatures are set to drop to the mid teens and there is also chance of rain. Article continues below The forecast for Sunday shows temperatures will reach highs of 13C and there is a 80 percent chance of rain at 7am. Sharing their outlook for Sunday through to Tuesday, the Met Office says: "Turning more changeable with showers, heavy at times and longer spells of rain, especially on Tuesday, interspersed by some bright spells. Often breezy and becoming less warm."
