Dean Cain's Shocking Move: Honorary ICE Officer? Here’s What You Need to Know!

What if Superman traded in his cape for a badge? That’s what fans are wondering as Dean Cain, the actor famous for his role in the 90s hit series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, announces his plans to become an honorary officer with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In a world where immigration has become a hot-button issue, Cain's decision is raising eyebrows.
The 59-year-old actor revealed his intentions during an interview on Fox News with Jesse Watters, passionately declaring, “This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing.” He echoed sentiments often associated with the Trump administration, stating, “President Trump ran on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for.” Cain believes that by joining ICE, he can play his part in this national conversation.
But that’s not all. He took to Instagram to promote ICE's recent recruitment efforts, highlighting benefits that include a signing bonus of up to $50,000 for new recruits. “You can defend your homeland and get great benefits,” he proclaimed, hinting at the urgency he feels regarding immigration issues. His video began by suggesting he had already joined ICE, stating, “I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans.” However, he later clarified that his formal involvement would follow his online statement.
In fact, Cain is already a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer, with affiliations in Idaho's Pocatello Police Department and Frederick County, Virginia. This background adds weight to his passionate stance on law enforcement and national security. Following the buzz from his Instagram post, he is now in discussions to become a sworn honorary ICE officer, an announcement confirmed by Tricia McLaughlin from the Department of Homeland Security.
Cain's announcement coincides with ICE’s recent push to recruit new officers, significantly lowering the age limits for applicants. This strategic move comes in the wake of what DHS Secretary Kristi Noem described as “Biden’s open borders disaster,” indicating a shift in focus for the agency. Amidst all this, the agency is also working under Trump’s immigration policies, with a significant budget allocated to expand its reach.
While many celebrities stay quiet on immigration matters, Cain is stepping into the fray, igniting passionate discussions on both sides of the argument. Interestingly, just last month, filmmaker James Gunn expressed a contrasting view, celebrating Superman as a symbol of immigration and kindness — values that seem to be under fire in today’s political landscape.
