In a shocking incident in La Puente, California, a gang of masked burglars pulled off a daring break-in, making off with approximately $7,000 worth of beloved Labubu dolls on the morning of August 6. This is the latest episode in an escalating trend of obsession surrounding these collectible figures, which have taken the toy market by storm.
At around 1:29 a.m., surveillance footage captured the audacious gang, dressed in hoodies and hiding their faces, as they smashed through the storeās entrance of One Stop Sales. Within minutes, they were seen carting away box after box of the popular dolls, rifling through shelves with abandon.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriffās Department, the robbers fled the scene in a stolen white Toyota Tacoma, which was later discovered abandoned. Yet, the suspects remain elusive, leaving the community in disbelief.
āWe are still in shock,ā shared co-owner Joanna Avendano on Instagram, alongside footage of the break-in. āWe worked so hard to get to this point, only for them just to come in and take it all away.ā The post included images of shattered glass and disarray, illustrating the aftermath of the crime.
The heist wiped out the shopās entire Labubu inventory, and given how these dolls have skyrocketed in popularity, the loss is nothing short of devastating.
