Trump latest: US president tells campaign-style rally country is 'heading in the right direction'

Trump runs through his greatest hits in Michigan Donald Trump has just walked off the stage in Michigan. Much of his speech tonight echoed what has been heard previously - including some of the greatest hits from his election campaign. It started in familiar fashion, to the sound of God Bless The USA by Lee Greenwood. "I miss you guys. I miss the campaign," he told the crowd. Trump then recycled many of his favourite talking points, repeating attacks on judges and his predecessors, as well as making claims about the economy and immigration. In true Trump style, he was caged by no single topic and strayed freely across everything from "eggs, eggs, eggs" to crowd sizes, "lefty lunatics" to the "rigged" 2020 election. The speech to mark the first 100 days of Trump's second term mirrored many of those days that came before - and maybe confirms what we'll see in the coming days, weeks, months and years.
