Man daubs 'God is a lie' on church walls in shameful Good Friday graffiti spree He also painted phallic symbols on gravestones Graffiti in the church grounds A man has pleaded guilty to daubing the walls of a church with the words 'God is a lie' on Good Friday - and breaking a window at a second church. Joseph Williams, 30, painted phallic symbols on gravestones at St James' Church in Leyland, Lancashire, along with obscene words including 'c**t' and 'pr**k' as well as daubing the anti-Christian message on the church wall. ‌ Williams, of Nelson Avenue, Leyland, appeared at Preston Magistrates Court charged with £1,078 of religiously aggravated criminal damage to the Church of England church and grounds on Slater Lane overnight from Maundy Thursday (April 17) and Good Friday (April 18). ‌ He was also accused of breaking a window at St Mary's RC Church on Broadfield Drive the same night. Article continues below Williams pleaded guilty to all charges and was bailed until June 17, when he will return to Preston Magistrates Court to be sentenced, reports Lancs Live.
