He described the feeling as ‘a bit slippery’ and ‘really dirty,’ but admitted the sensation was oddly pleasant in places: ‘It felt kind of cool…quite freeing.’ Unsurprisingly, fellow passengers didn’t seem to notice, or care. ‘People aren’t very sociable on the Tube,’ he told Metro, ‘They just try not to make eye contact.’ According to TfL, Underground trains are cleaned daily, with deeper cleans every few days, but grime, mostly made up of brake dust and rubber particles, is a stubborn feature of the network.
