Unbelievable Breakthroughs in Electric Buses Unveiled at Busworld Europe 2025!

Imagine a world where electric buses can travel nearly 500 kilometers on a single charge and charge up in the blink of an eye! At Busworld Europe 2025 in Brussels, from October 4 to 9, Kiepe Electric is set to make waves with groundbreaking drive and platform solutions for electric buses. The standout innovation? The latest-generation Kiepe Traction Inverter (KTI), already making its mark in new models from Turkish manufacturer BMC, which will unveil its PROCITY+ EV series at the show.
For the highly anticipated PROCITY+12 EV, Kiepe teamed up with Dresden-based motor specialists VEM to create the Kiepe eDrive Unit. This powerful unit integrates the KTI with an Energy Control Unit (ECU) and a cutting-edge electric motor. The ECU smartly manages auxiliary systems like heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, ensuring high efficiency across the board. With an impressive range of up to 490 kilometers and charging capabilities of up to 400 kW, this bus is not just a pretty face; it excels in the E-SORT test cycle, proving its prowess on the roads. Plus, the articulated PROCITY+18 EV will also showcase these fantastic technologies in Brussels.
Kiepe Electric isn't stopping there! They will also introduce the eBus HPC Powertrain Platform, a modular complete solution designed for electric buses up to an impressive 36 meters in length. This platform comprises six modules: the drive system, energy management, auxiliaries, battery system, charging technology, and vehicle control. It’s all about flexibility—this platform can be tailored to meet various customer requirements. With lightning-fast charging capacities of up to 810 kW, electric buses can enjoy extremely short charging times, enabling operations that feel almost continuous. This flexibility means that battery capacity can be minimized, creating additional passenger space and reducing overall vehicle weight, which is a win-win for energy efficiency!
And there’s even more! Kiepe is revealing a trolleybus upgrade package that allows existing battery buses to seamlessly transition into trolleybuses with minimal effort. Thanks to two additional components—the Kiepe Isolating Converter (KIC) and the Kiepe Smart Current Collector (KSC)—these buses can easily switch between battery power and overhead line systems, making the transition smooth and efficient. This innovative solution could redefine urban transportation and pave the way for a greener future.
