People on contact list getting calls for money: Lakshmi Puri says victim of cyberfraud

Former Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations Women, Lakshmi M Puri, on Friday said she filed a complaint with the Delhi Police’s Cyber Crime Department after people in her contact list started receiving calls from her number asking for money. Puri, who is also Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s wife, said it all started after she received a call on Thursday. “I received a call from a number saved on my device yesterday evening. Since the person was known to me and she requested an OTP, which she said she had mistakenly sent to my number, I gave it to her,” she wrote in a post on X.
