Apple is gearing up for the launch of its much-anticipated iPhone 17 series, which is expected to arrive around mid-September 2025. The series will introduce an exciting new model: the iPhone 17 Air, designed to replace the traditional Plus variant that fans have come to know. The upcoming lineup will consist of four distinct models: the standard iPhone 17, the streamlined iPhone 17 Air, and the premium iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Although Apple has not officially confirmed the launch date, tech analyst David Phelan forecasts that the announcement is likely to happen on September 9.

The design of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max has been revealed through detailed renders. These images showcase a repositioned Apple logo, which is expected to be centered within a new glass section and positioned lower on the rear panel than in previous models. This design modification hints at a shift towards a more refined aesthetic, aligning with Apple's trend of innovative design. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Pro lineup is rumored to feature an aluminum frame paired with a reimagined camera module that draws inspiration from the iPad Pro. To enable wireless charging capabilities, Apple has reportedly included a glass panel within the aluminum housing, situated just below the camera setup, enhancing both functionality and design.

One of the most exciting upgrades in the new series is in the camera department. The iPhone 17 is set to offer a significant enhancement in selfie camera performance, featuring a new 24MP front-facing lens—this is double the resolution of the 12MP sensor found in the iPhone 16 models. This upgrade has been corroborated by renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who confirmed the details in January 2024. Meanwhile, in October 2024, analyst Jeff Pu disclosed that the iPhone 17 Pro would sport a redesigned rear camera layout, adopting a horizontal triple-lens configuration. Notably, the upgraded system will include a 48MP telephoto camera that offers 3.5x optical zoom, positioning the iPhone 17 series as a strong competitor in the smartphone photography arena.

As for pricing, Apple is expected to stick to its traditional pricing strategy for the standard iPhone lineup in 2025. Early reports suggest that the iPhone 17 could launch in India with a starting price of approximately Rs 89,900. The iPhone 17 Air, a new addition to the lineup, is projected to be priced around Rs 99,900. For those looking toward the premium offerings, the iPhone 17 Pro is anticipated to come with a price tag of Rs 1,39,900, while the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max could be available for Rs 1,64,900. However, some sources indicate that prices may see a slight increase compared to previous models, reflecting the ongoing advancements and enhancements introduced with this new series.
